Gorilla trekking

After a quick breakfast, it’s time to drive to the park headquarters for a rundown on the ins and outs of gorilla tracking, where you’ll also be able to pick up your lunch packs. After that, continue your quest for the bamboo giants deeper into Volcanoes National Park’s slopes and hills covered with bamboo. In Rwanda, tracking gorillas can take anywhere from two to six hours, depending on how active the gorillas are at any one time. When you have located them, you will be given up to a maximum of one hour to see and photograph the gorillas as they go about their business in the forest oblivious to the fact that anyone is observing them. After completing the hike, you will need to make your way back to either the starting site or another place of assembly in order to receive your certificate. You will now return to your hotel after meeting your guide. You have the option of going on a village stroll around Kinigi if you finish the gorilla hike early and are still feeling good afterward. Dinner and the overnight stay are the same as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Kisoro – Uganda (Southern Bwindi)

After a delicious breakfast, you will start your drive to Uganda with a stop at the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo on the way. You will arrive in Kisoro town in plenty of time for lunch if you use the Cyanika border crossing into Uganda. Have lunch, and then afterward, explore the lovely Lake Mutanda and visit the little known – undiscovered Sagitwe hill. Sagitwe hill is a hill with a “basket” inside it, and from that “basket,” you will get a 360-degree view of Kisoro town, Lake Mutanda, the Virunga mountains, and even a distant view of Bunagana town in Congo! Continue on your journey to the resort, where you will have supper and spend the night at the Bwindi Jungle view Lodge.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

On the 4th day of your 5 Day Rwanda Uganda gorilla tracking , before beginning your gorilla trek, you should get up early and eat breakfast before making your way to the park headquarters to receive a safety briefing from the ranger guides. Go into the jungle and keep hiking until you come to the gorillas. The amount of time spent gorilla trekking might range anywhere from two to eight hours, depending on how active the gorillas are. When you have located the gorillas in Bwindi National Park, you will have only one hour to observe them before being forced to leave. Following the events described in the previous section, your driver or guide will take you back to your hotel so that you may rest and enjoy another night there.

Day 5: Transfer to Kigali

You will have time to relax and have breakfast before being sent back to Kigali via the Katuna border crossing. On route, you will have the opportunity to see other sites in Uganda, such as the Echuya forest reserve and stretches of Lake Bunyonyi. Get a quick tour of Kigali’s city center, including stops at Kimironko market and the genocide museum. You will be dropped off at the airport in time for your journey back home after having lunch at the famous Hotel Mille Collin, which was used as the setting for the film Hotel Rwanda.
