13 Days Best of Uganda wildlife Safari : The largest national park in Uganda and the source of the park’s name, Murchison Falls National Park, is visited during this 13-day wildlife safari known as the “Best of Uganda.” A spectacular assault on the senses occurs as the Mighty Nile River thunderously roars through a 7-meter gorge before plunging 40 meters below in a tumultuous explosion. In this national park, you can take memorable game drives, go on a boat safari, and take in the breathtaking scenery.
In Kibale Forest National Park, still in western Uganda, you can continue your Best of Uganda Wildlife Safari adventure and visit the amazing chimpanzee families, our closest relatives. Kibale National Forest has a large population of primates. The number of primates in the forest is among the greatest in the region. There are several primate species, and they continue to exist in the less damaged parts of the forest where they were originally found. One of the last remaining areas that has both lowland and montane forests is Kibale. It supports the last substantial area of pre-montane forest in eastern Africa.
We’ll continue our safari farther south to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park in order to see the tree-climbing lions. Ahh, what a sight! Beautiful savanna grasslands contrasted against the Rwenzori Mountains make for a breathtaking spectacle. Additionally, we’ll take a boat tour down the Kazinga channel to get even more breathtaking views of aquatic animals like hippos and elephants trying to cool off on the riverbanks.
At the pinnacle of this action-packed “Best of Uganda Wildlife Safari,” we’ll take you to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park’s majestic gentle giants. We’ll leave very early in the morning to go on a gorilla trekking excursion through the foggy woods, led by gorilla experts. When we find gorillas, we’ll spend about an hour hanging out with them. To enjoy this journey, a few rules must be observed; keep an eye out for them.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Uganda
Our Best of Uganda Wildlife Safari guide will meet you at the airport and transport you to the hotel that has been reserved for you in Entebbe. We’ll stay here for dinner and the night.
Day 2: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park (5-6hrs)
After a leisurely breakfast, you’ll depart for Murchison Falls National Park via the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you’ll get the chance to go rhino trekking. The rhino reintroduction effort in Uganda is housed in the reserve. There are 9 white rhinos, and tracking takes 1.5 hours on foot. After lunch, you’ll travel to Masindi Town and then to Murchison Falls National Park. The travel time for the Best of Uganda Wildlife Safari route is 6-7 hours.
You will dine and spend the night in the hotel you reserved.
Day 3: Game drive and Boat safari launch on the Nile
You will go for a Best of Uganda Wildlife Safari game drive at sunrise at 6.30 am in order to observe Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda kobs, hartebeest, and waterbucks on the Nyamsika plateau. As well as large carnivores like lions, leopards, and spotted hyenas, you might see oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, shy sitatunga, bush duiker, warthog, and bush pig. Six species of primates can be found in the park, with chimpanzees and olive baboons at the top of the list.
Along the banks of the Nile River, crocodiles and hippos can be seen. The goliath heron, Egyptian geese, pelican, bee-eaters, kingfishers, hornbill, cormorant, saddle-bill stork, and the uncommon shoebill stork are a some of the more common birds that can be spotted. Before leaving in the afternoon for a boat trip on the serene Victoria Nile upstream to the base of the falls, you will return to your lodge for a late breakfast and some downtime.
Along the way, you’ll witness waterbuck, hippos, crocodiles, and a vast variety of birds, including the unique shoebill stork. The boat stops a few meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron” so that visitors can take pictures of the magnificent and picturesque Murchison Falls.
Day 4: Visit the top of the fall and travel to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, you will travel to the “top of the thunderous Murchison falls” to see how the River Nile squeezes itself into a 7-meter gorge before thunderously exploding 40 meters below the surface. The River Nile then flows into a very calm river whose banks are teeming with a variety of water and land animals as well as birds.
The 6-hour trip to Kibale Forest National Park will begin. The route travels through picturesque terrain filled with historical plantations, trading posts, and towns in addition to traditional homesteads, crop gardens, and plantations. After eating lunch en way, you’ll be there in the late afternoon. You’ll eat dinner and spend the night in the hotel you reserved.
Day 5: Chimp tracking and nature walk in Kibale Forest
On the 5th day of your 13 Days Best of Uganda wildlife Safari , you must arrive at the Kanyanchu Tourist Center at 8:00 a.m. after breakfast to receive a briefing on the procedures for chimpanzee tracking. East Africa’s biggest variety and concentration of primates may be found in Kibale Forest National Park. The Chimpanzee, an adorable ape, is the most well-known of its 13 kinds.
The trip lasts two to three hours, and during that time you’ll get the chance to witness numerous other primates, animals, birds, and butterflies. After lunch, head back to the lodge you selected for your Best of Uganda Wildlife Safari experience, and in the late afternoon, take a nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland to spot different bird and monkey species. At your lodge, you’ll eat dinner and spend the night.
Day 6: Game drive and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you will go on a game drive early in the morning where you will, among other animals, observe lions, leopards, gigantic forest hogs, Cape buffaloes, elephants, defassa waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, topi, and bushbucks. After lunch, you’ll head back to your lodge before taking a 2-hour boat tour in the Kazinga Channel in the late afternoon.
This 42 km waterway connects Lake George with Lake Edward. The planned Best of Uganda Wildlife Safari boat safari offers a fantastic setting for photography, bird watching, and wildlife viewing as it travels through what may be the area with the greatest population of hippos. With well over 550 resident species, the bird population is abundant and diverse. You will eat dinner and spend the night at the lodge you reserved.
Day 7: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
On the 7th day of your 13 Days Best of Uganda wildlife Safari, After breakfast, you’ll head to the Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Ishasha section, which is renowned for its tree-climbing lions that lounge in the tree branches while keeping a careful eye on herds of Uganda kob, their preferred prey. Numerous elephants, buffalo, and endangered shoebill birds live there as well.
In this region of the park, you will eat lunch at one of the Best of Uganda Wildlife Safari lodges before continuing on to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in the south. While traveling, you will enjoy stunning views of the surrounding countryside, a bamboo forest, and the picturesque vistas typical of the western rift valley. When you get there in the late afternoon, you’ll head to the lodge you reserved for dinner and the night.
Day 8: Uganda Gorilla trekking in Bwindi

Uganda Gorilla Trekking
The most thrilling day of your journey will be today, according to the Best of Uganda Wildlife Safari. Breakfast early and head to the park headquarters for a 7:45 am training on the guidelines for gorilla trekking with other trackers. To discover the gorillas, you and your guides will hike through dense brush and vegetation for two to eight hours. Even though the steeply forested area is extremely dense, there are various animal pathways that go across it that give tourists access. Once the gorillas are located, you will have an hour to spend with them before heading back to your lodge to rest. You will dine and spend the night in the hotel you reserved.
Day 9: Relaxing day or another Gorilla trekking in Bwindi and transfer to Kisoro town
You might choose to use this day of your Best of Uganda Wildlife Safari to unwind and kick back, think back on your previous gorilla encounter, swap stories, and more. After breakfast, you can proceed to the Park headquarters to meet up with other trackers at 7:45 am for a briefing on the guidelines for gorilla trekking, or you can decide to try gorilla trekking again. It will take you and your guides a trip through dense brush and underbrush to reach the gorillas, which might take 2 to 8 hours, depending on where they are in the dense jungle. Day 10: Travel to Lake Mburo National Park via Igongo Cultural Centre
After breakfast, you’ll depart for Lake Mburo National Park, which is home to a number of lakes flanked by swamps and abundant with birdlife. The park’s lush acacia woodland is home to animals like the zebra, warthog, elands, and impala, among others. You will stop for lunch at the Igongo Cultural Center en route and hear about the distinct history and culture of the Ankole people, who take great delight in raising cattle. At this location, you will be treated to some of the Best of Uganda Wildlife Safari traditional dances before being driven to the lodge of your reservation for dinner and stay.
Day 11: Nature walk and Game drive in the park and Boat cruise on Lake Mburo
On the 13th day of your 13 Days Best of Uganda wildlife Safari, After breakfast, you will take a walking tour of the park with an expert game ranger who will tell you which species have left footprints and how long ago they did so. One of the two parks in Uganda where a walking tour is allowed is Mburo. After the nature walk, you’ll go on a game drive before coming back to the lodge for lunch. You will have a 2-hour boat tour in the afternoon to get up close to various birds and aquatic species, such as crocodiles and hippos. After supper, you’ll head back to your lodge to spend the night.
Day 12: Travel to Kampala
Your trip to Kampala will begin after breakfast. You will make a pit stop at the equator, where you may capture pictures while simultaneously standing in two hemispheres. The entire trip will take 6-7 hours, and we’ll arrive in Kampala in the late afternoon. Your Best of Uganda Wildlife Safari hotel reservation is where you will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 13: Visit the chimp sanctuary on Ngamba Island.
You will be driven to the Lake Victoria port after breakfast so you may board a boat and travel to Ngamba Island. The hour-long boat ride will be scheduled. Once you’ve arrived at the chimpanzee sanctuary, you’ll receive a briefing on the facility before spending time with the chimps as they eat, relax, and perform acrobatic swings in the tree branches. Following a nature walk on the island with the young chimpanzees, you will take a cruise back to Entebbe. Depending on when your aircraft departs, you will either be taken to the airport for your planned journey home or to the hotel you have reserved for dinner and an overnight stay.
