Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrive at Kigali International Airport and drive to Volcanoes National Park
Depending on the time of arrival at the airport, our driver-guide will welcome you and brief you about the Rwanda Safari Tour to Volcanoes National Park.
If you arrive early, your driver guide will take you to visit the Kigali Genocide memorial grounds and the Kimironko market with a safari experience.
Later you will embark on your journey to the park. Once you arrive, check into your lodge and relax while you wait for dinner and the overnight stay.
Day 2: Volcanoes national park gorilla trek
On the 2nd day, wake up in the morning and be served with breakfast and carry packed lunch from the lodge and after meet up your guide who will drive you to Volcanoes National Park’s headquarters for briefing by the park rangers before making your way into the mountains in search for mountain gorillas.
Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Later you will be assigned to random mountain gorilla families and briefed about what you should and what you shouldn’t do when you meet gorillas in their natural habitat.
After this briefing, it is time for you to get started with your trek right away. Your goal is to find the endangered mountain gorillas in the forests of this region.
You can expect to take between two and eight hours for this gorilla trekking activity, depending on the weather conditions previously experienced as well as the current movement of the apes. Once you find them, you will be given an hour to spend around them, and then you will return to your starting point afterward to receive your certificate gorilla trekking.
Have your packed lunch and after your driver will take you for a cultural visit at the Iby’iwachu cultural center for a taste of the Rwandan culture in terms of dances, language and ancient ways of living.
After drive back to your lodge for your dinner and spend overnight there.
Day 3: Drive back to Kigali
This is the last day of the Safari. wake up in the morning and have a relaxed breakfast at the lodge. After check out of the lodge and embark on your drive back to Kigali City to catch your next flight or drop off at a desired location.
