3 Days Rwanda gorillas and golden monkey safari : Embark on yet another gorilla trekking Tour in Volcanoes national park in Rwanda for a 3 day gorilla and golden monkey Rwandan safari.
During the trip, you’ll hike with the Rwandan gorillas, as well as hunt for shy golden monkeys.
Day 1: Arrival and Drive to Volcanoes National park
After arriving at Kigali Airport or depending on your location in Kigali, you will be greeted by our company representative/guide who will take you to Volcanoes national park, the home of the endangered mountain gorillas.
From Kigali city to Musanze province, it takes 2-3 hours by car. Join your lodge for a relaxing stay, dinner, and overnight stay in Ruhengeri.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park and Cultural Visit
On the 2nd day of your 3 Days Rwanda gorillas and golden monkey safari, In the morning, after breakfast, a briefing about mountain gorillas will be provided by the park warden at the park headquarters-kinigi.
Upon arrival at the starting point for trekking the gorillas, your driver will drop you off along with your trekking gear, drinking water, and packed lunch.
Depending on their movements, searching for the gorillas may take 1-8 hours. Despite this, meeting them is such a wonderful experience and you will spend only one hour with them as you study them and take pictures. Return to the base and meet your driver to connect to your lodge for lunch and refreshment after spending time with the fascinating mountain gorillas.
If there is time, take a cultural walk to the Iby’iwachu Cultural Village-a non-profit umbrella organization whose mission is to improve the lives of reformed poachers and the communities around Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park by providing conservation incentives, supporting community enterprise development, and developing livelihoods.
Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes
Enjoy the Kinyarwanda traditions including the Intore dance, traditional ceremonies, and a guided community walk at this rewarding place. Afterwards, retreat to your lodge for a relaxing evening, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 3: Golden Monkeys tracking and return to Kigali
Following an early morning breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the endangered golden monkeys.
Afterward, connect to the tracking point and explore the forest to find the gold monkey. During this activity, you can see other primates in the park including red-tailed monkeys and vervet monkeys up close.
As you observe the rare golden monkeys and study their behaviors for an hour, return to the base for lunch. In Kigali city, take a moment to visit the site of the genocide and the craft shops. The driver will later drive you to the airport to find your scheduled flight back home.
